Schiphol, 13 January 2014
transavia.com is adding even more capacity for the summer season of 2014 to meet a growing need. As a response to the increasing popularity of Italian destinations, the airline will be serving two new destinations and opening a new route to this country. This summer, transavia.com will be operating 66 flights a week to 12 sun and city destinations in Italy from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Rotterdam The Hague Airport and Eindhoven Airport.
Mattijs ten Brink, General Manager of transavia.com: “After a 20% growth in passengers last year, we see the demand for tickets continue to grow. This has also been clear from our January sale, with 19% more bookings than last year. To meet the growing demand for the summer season, we are adding more capacity. In addition to Spain and Portugal, Italy is a very important growth market for transavia.com, which is why we are adding the greatest capacity in that country, with new routes and destinations. I am proud that passengers repeatedly choose our airline for their sun holidays, city trips and winter sports holidays. This enables us to continue developing and innovating in order to make our product as efficient and comfortable as possible at a competitive price. You can fly, for example, to one of our Italian destinations from as low as €45.”
Starting in April 2014, transavia.com will be flying to two new destinations, Bari and Catania, from Amsterdam. There will be 3 weekly flights to Bari and 5 to Catania.
A new Rome route will also be opened. In addition to departures from Rotterdam, the Italian capital will be served 7 times a week from Amsterdam. More frequent flights have also been added for Naples (+3) and Verona (+2).
The other added capacity is being devoted to more frequent flights to Seville (+3), Casablanca (+2) and Porto (+2), among others. The new destinations and extra flights will be available for booking from Tuesday, 14 January, at www.transavia.com
Destinations served by transavia.com in Italy (seat only): Bologna, Bari, Catania, Lamezia-Terme, Naples, Olbia, Palermo, Pisa, Rome, Turin, Venice (Marco Polo) and Verona.
