High year-round frequency of Transavia flights

Schiphol, 21 April 2015

Flights in the 2015/2016 Transavia winter flight schedule can be booked from Tuesday 21 April at 10 a.m. The capacity has been increased by 80,000 seats compared to last year. With its new winter schedule, the airline is continuing down the path taken towards the new Transavia. This means that destinations are flown all year round, concentrated on a home base and higher frequency to relevant European destinations. This gives the passenger more choice and flexibility.

Roy Scheerder, Commercial Director at Transavia, explains, “Transavia aims to be affordable and accessible to all. That is why we no longer focus on holidaymakers alone, but also business travellers, and also during the winter. We have adapted the flight schedule to this and have introduced new products and services. This includes three new fare structures that make it very easy for passengers to travel with the service that best fits their needs: Basic, Plus and Max. We have waived the booking and payment fees to make our prices more competitive and transparent.”

Business travel and city trip
To make travel even more appealing to both business travellers and city trip travellers, Transavia is also increasing the frequency of flights to major European cities during the winter.
Transavia has more frequent flights to Berlin and Vienna from Rotterdam The Hague Airport. Flights are operated to Copenhagen daily from Eindhoven Airport. And passengers can choose from more than two flights a day to Barcelona from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

New this winter are routes from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to Thessaloniki, Tel Aviv, Bari and Paris Orly. Also new this winter are routes from Eindhoven Airport to Athens and from Rotterdam The Hague Airport to Barcelona. All of these routes are now offered all year round.

Winter sports
Transavia has noticed an increasing interest in winter sports flights. Roy Scheerder continues, “This winter, we have seen winter sports flights once again on the rise and have responded with extra capacity. Again, attractive flight schedules and frequencies are very important for getting more out of the length of stay and slopes on both short weekend trips and longer ski holidays. This is something we take into account.”

This is why Transavia now offers more flights to Innsbruck and Salzburg from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Eindhoven Airport, and Rotterdam The Hague Airport. Since market demand is no longer strong, the airline has decided to stop offering flights to two winter sports destinations from Groningen Airport Eelde.

True to tradition, Transavia is starting the winter sports season with special flights for the opening of the winter sports season in Ischgl, Tirol. The flights to Innsbruck depart from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on the morning of Thursday 26 November and, from Eindhoven Airport, on the morning of Friday 27 November. Both flights return on the evening of Sunday 29 November.

Winter sun
Transavia continues to offer plenty of options for winter sun destinations. Like last year, flights are offered this winter to Dubai and winter flights to the Canary Islands will continue as always. Both destinations can be booked later in the season. Ibiza can now be reached all year round from Eindhoven Airport.

The winter schedule starts on 3 November 2015 and ends on 3 April 2016. For the complete Transavia flight schedule, visit www.transavia.com
