Munich, 30 May 2016

Eight at a stroke: Today’s six and tomorrow’s two inaugural flights of Transavia from Munich are bringing passengers aboard Munich’s new low cost airline to Valencia, Bari, Palermo, Dubrovnik, Lisbon, Catania and Alicante. The beginning was the first flight from Munich to Berlin-Schönefeld, which departed on time at 6:40 and connects Erdinger Moos with the German capital twelve times weekly from €35 as of now. By tomorrow, Transavia completes its summer operations with four aircraft of the type Boeing 737 stationed in Munich. Flights to the sun or for a city trip are available from €29 already at www.transavia.com. Affordable connections for the winter season are already bookable as well.

“In the past weeks and months, we have successfully established our new hub at Munich airport and are very satisfies with all developments”, says Mattijs ten Brink, CEO of Transavia. “Our combination of product, service and price is well received, which is why our flight schedule not only during summer but also in winter season clearly shows: We are here to stay.”

Transavia is approaching 19 destinations in its summer schedule in total: Besides the destinations starting today and tomorrow, the route network also includes Palma de Mallorca, Pisa, Faro, Copenhagen and Porto for example. During the upcoming winter schedule, Fuerteventura, Las Palmas at Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Tel Aviv are complementing the route network.

For its flights, Transavia offers three different fares: “Basic” includes ten kilogram hand luggage and a confirmed seat, whilst “Plus” holds further amenities like one free piece of luggage of 20 kilogram, a dedicated seat reservation and flexible rebooking conditions. “Max” additionally includes a free 30 kilogram piece of luggage and the usage of a fast lane at the security check for shorter waiting times before the flight.
